Here is a quick overview of the programs currently offered at Pinnacle Aesthetic & Nail Academy. Some classes are not offered on a regular basis, instead are offered when enough interest is shown. We look forward to having you a part of our academy.
Sanitation & Disinfection … it’s role in the Spa & Salon |

This comprehensive class covering all the latest do’s & don’ts of the industry in regards to proper cleaning & disinfecting necessary to protect you & your clients. With the recent “bad” media surrounding our industry & evolving super bugs it is more important now than ever before to properly clean, disinfect & sterilize all of your equipment, tools & work area.
This class is a mandatory pre-requisite for all other classes, but can be taken without taking any of our other programs. |

Nail Art |

Tired of doing the same nail designs? Looking for some new ideas? Join us for an exciting one day class on the latest nail art, play with our airbrush & interact with others in the industry trying to find new ideas. This class is open to all professional nail technicians with proof of course completion. Please have nails on so that everyone gets a chance to work with colour. |

Brazilian Waxing Specialist |
|
The majority of waxing technicians don’t feel comfortable waxing brazilians when they first learn waxing. The pre-requisite to this class is a valid waxing certification with a minimum of 6 months of waxing experience & have done at least 50 bikini waxes |

Tinting & Perming |
|
Everyone knows that eyebrows & eyelashes frame the eyes. Learn how you can deepen the lashes, lighten or darken the eyebrows & perm the eyelashes. |

The following programs have been revised to allow for students to work as well develop new skills. We now offer one to one for some of our programs and will soon be adding a distance learning module. All programs do require you, the student to supply models and a lot of self-direction as we try to focus on the hands on while at the academy.

Manicurist |
|
This program teaches you the art of manicuring, from past to present, including paraffin & spa treatments. |

Feet First - Level 1 Pedicurist |
|
They’re the first thing you walk on & the last thing many think about. Feet first is a comprehensive program designed to teach you the basics behind a great pedicure. Learn what can & cannot be removed & how to do it safely. This class includes how to deal with ingrown toenails, callus & more. This class is a pre-requisite to Level 2 Pedicurist Medi-Pedi. |

Medi Pedi - Level 2 Pedicurist |
|
In this class, we take pedicures to a different level. Diabetic foot care, corn removal, proper callus shaving, toe nail reconstruction, ingrown toenail bracing & electric pedicure. Pre-requisite to this class is level 1 and 60 pedicures (~ 3 months experience working with pedicures). Student to supply own professional pedicure tools, & all necessary supplies regularly used for a pedicure. Additional tools on top of what you normally use will be required; a tool list will be issued upon payment of tuition. |

Artificial Nail Technician |
|
Gel & Acrylic nails are in huge demand year round. Learn the latest & most efficient techniques in nail enhancements ... gel, acrylic, silk wraps, sculpting, tips, overlays & electric file efficiency & safety. Our academy is one of only 2 in Canada registered to teach the AEFM electric file safety class which is mandatory in most states in the US. |

Upon successful completion of the above 4 classes with our academy you will receive your Professional Nail Diploma. By taking all of these classes & attaining your PND, you will be eligible to write the CIABC exam for those students wishing to work in BC |

Waxing Technician |
|
This class covers hair removal from the body & face with soft, cream & hard wax, with extra detail given to the art of eyebrow sculpting & speed waxing. As a student of waxing it is mandatory that you begin growing your hair at least 3 weeks before your class begins. If you do not grow your hair, you will forfeit your tuition, this is a very hands on class & you must be waxed to become a waxing technician. |

Make Up Artistry Level 1 |
|
Level one make up artistry is more than an introduction to the field. Upon completion of this class you will be ready to run as a make up artist. This program covers tools, equipment, products, face analysis, skin analysis & preparation, colour theory & how all of this relates to and becomes day & evening make up. Special attention will be given to preparing a bride, mother of the bride or graduate for her special day, both at the ceremony & in the photos. |

Make Up Artistry Level 2 |

Coming soon! Glamour, fantasy, retro, classic & trends ... all these make up styles will be discussed, demo’d & practiced. |

Professional Skin Therapist |
|
The most in-depth program, combining the art & science of skin care, this program requires you to be extremely disciplined. While it is not completely a distance class, the student must be prepared to study in advance to your first “class”. You will learn to recognize diseases and disorders of the skin, as well as recommend proper treatment and care. The essential anatomy and physiology the skin and its muscles, chemistry and product knowledge will also be covered. Learning how the skin is a “map” to the body will take your knowledge as a skin therapist to a different level. Skin analysis through the Fitzpatrick scale as well as other key signs will aid you in determining the correct type of treatment. You will learn how to perform a facial with or without the aid of machines, as well as different types of massage. |

Upon successful completion of the most of the above programs, you can apply for your designation as an Aesthetician. There will be a written & practical exam. There is no fee for someone having taken all classes through Pinnacle. For those having taken classes at different institutions, an examination fee will apply. |

Spa Therapist |
|
Who didn’t love playing in mud as a child? How about candle wax? With the evolution of the spa industry, program is designed to prepare you through hands on practice to step into the spa. In this class you will be introduced to the use of essential oils through aromatherapy, body wraps and relaxation massage. This class is only open to those who are qualified aestheticians, massage therapists or have taken the qualifying education. |
